Q: What is Enviro-Safe ™ Refrigerant?

A: Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant is a proprietary blended, ultra-efficient, hydrocarbon refrigerant and a direct replacement for HFC-134a and R-12 substitutes.

 

A: Enviro-Safe™ products are made within strict specification. In fact, the refrigerant product is made of only the Most Pure, Quality, Refined ingredients available today. Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant is computer blended and certified by a major American petrochemical supplier; manufactured and bottled in the United Sates!

 

 

A: Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant is flammable to an open flame but has an autoignition temperature of 1,585F (which is 1000F higher than that of 134a)! It is rated as a Flammable Gas. Flammable products are used every day within the household, business and in automobiles. Hair Spray = Flammable 3, Gasoline = Flammable 4, Propane = Flammable 4. Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant = Flammable 2 and can be used safely in automobiles just like other flammable automotive products required for vehicle operation. All flammable products require your respect, adequate precaution and safe use practices. Follow all directions on the can or label and use basic common sense :-)

 

A: Yes, it contains a “fresh pine scent” which is added during the bottling process. The “fresh pine scent” was designed to assist consumers in leak detection. The “fresh pine scent” immediately notifies the operator and others within the vehicle of a leak within the air conditioning system.

 

 

A: Absolutely not! The pine scent will not harm the air conditioning unit or other components. The chemical design of the odorant works in conjunction with the refrigerant.

 

 

A: Yes! Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerants are up to 40% more efficient than Hydrofluorocarbon Refrigerants.

 

 

A: No! Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerants are non-corrosive, and do not form acids in combination with system moisture.

A: Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant is an all-natural, non-ozone depleting material and has negligible global warming potential. Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant is organic and has NO impurities. In fact, it is so pure, it is classifies as a pharmaceutical grade product! R-12 and HFC-134a are man-made, chemical refrigerants that do not utilize all natural products. R-12 has both, high global warming and high ozone deletion, while HFC-134a does not effect the ozone, it does have a very high global warming potential according to reports.

A: Yes! Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerants can extend equipment and component life by lowering compressor “head pressure” up to 33%. In most cases, Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant is capable of delivering energy savings and will result in a considerable reduction in operating costs!

 

 

A: This answer is actually twofold. Yes, it is compatible with all other refrigerants and will not harm the system. In the United States though, it is currently not legal to mix different types of refrigerants together. Intentionally mixing Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant with another refrigerant unlike itself is not in accordance with the USEPA.

 

A: Yes, Enviro-Safe™ is totally compatible with all refrigerant oil available today. It can be used with Mineral, Ester and PAG oils without incompatibility.

 

 

A: The United Sates Environmental Agency (EPA) prohibits the mixing of certain types of refrigerant that are not already "pre-approved mixes". Although mechanically there is no risk of incompatibility, there is legislation that prohibits such acts. (Although it will certainly work well as a replacement for either R-12 or 134a, if your car is still an R-12 unit it would first have to be defined as a 134a or other type of non-ozone-depleting unit before you could legally install it).

 

A: Yes, when used as a HFC-134a replacement there is no need to change any hoses, oil, o-rings or compressors. Enviro-Safe™ recommends you contact the U.S.E.P.A. or refer to the U.S.E.P.A. website for information concerning your individual application.

 

A: No. Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant has not been submitted to replace R-12 in automotive applications. The USEPA Clean Air Act regulates the replacement of ozone depleting products (such as R-12) with non-ozone depleting products (i.e. HFC-134a). The USEPA does not and cannot regulate non-ozone depleting substances (i.e. Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant) to replace other non-ozone depleting substances (HFC-134a). Therefore, Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerant does not require “approval” to be used or sold as a HFC-134a replacement.

 

A: Absolutely! Enviro-Safe™ Refrigerants are organic, non-ozone depleting, non-toxic compounds. These types of refrigerants are endorsed by the GreenPeace organization and are in full compliance with the UN Montreal Protocol.
